I received announcement regarding Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 is a micro update with many useful and critical bugfixes including 2 security relevant fixes...
But when I open my OpenOffice and ask it to check for updates I get... OpenOffice 4.1.0 is up to date.
Is it normally the case that checking for updates just updates the version of 4.1.0 and that I need to check on web site or await an announcement to download 4.1.1 & 4.1.2 , etc or is the method just dependent on the reason and type of update.

Re: Apache OpenOffice 4.1.0 check for updates
It is possible that the update link has not yet been adjusted for the new version. Normally the internal update does tell of the latest version, so thank you for bringing this to attention. I have copied the information to the developer list for correction.
The OO 4.1.1 update is valid and you can download it in the normal way.

Edit: It has been confirmed to me that the online Update notification service will be adjusted for the new release later today. The work of maintaining the site(s), becoming increasingly complex as the project expands, is undertaken by volunteers, who, with their limited time, prioritise getting the release in position first. |
