[Solved] Calc worksheet tab went missing

Please help me asap,

My open OpenOffice Calc worksheet tabs are missing.But remember that i have lost only recent 3 tabs . however i can find the earlier tabs.i have saved the every time the enter. i was able to find teh tabs 2 days before and i have entered data.
I create one tab per month. i got tabs only till july and not after that.

for example.

jan\feb\.....\june\july\missing here after.

Please help.. its really urgent and very much valuable entry.

Select Format --> Sheet and see if some tabs are hidden.

Also one more information..

In that same folder where i have saved the file i see one more file by teh same name with a prefix LOCK.
example..

if the required file name is sunil i see one more file by name "~Lock.Sunil"

Hi,

At the top of the spreadsheet you find the following menus: File Edit View Insert Format Tools Data Window Help
Now Select Format the pull down menu the fifth entry is Sheet once you have selected this an other menu is displayed which has entries as Show and Hide.
If there are no hidden tabs the Show button is gray otherwise you could click on it and displays the tabs that are hidden.

Each time you open a file, OOo creates such a normally hidden file. It's a kind of lock to prevent someone else from editing it in the mean time. Don't worry, it's removed when the file is closed.

There is a slim chance there is an automatic backup copy. Look in Tools > Options > OO.o > Paths for the location of the backups folder.

If you haven't backed up your file (in a different location to the one mentioned), I fear that you have probably lost your work. If the complete file was deleted somehow, you may be able to recover it. There is a tool for Windows (I forget the name) which can revive deleted files. It is either a Windows tool or freeware. I employed it when I was using Windows several years ago.

Perhaps take a look at Sheet Tabs or Format Scroll Bar for Sheets and see if any of those suggestions help. For the former, especially note the posts by JohnSUN-Pensioner and johntait.

Slap on my head! Try grabbing the left end of the horizontal scroll bar and dragging it to the right of the screen. The scroll bar may be covering the sheet tabs.

I finally upgraded to 4.0.1 on Friday, and have been finding anomalies such as the "missing tabs". Thank you @kingfisher for helping me return to functional!
