[Solved] Avery label templates
In the past, various Avery templates were listed when I wanted to print address labels. Now I don't see the Avery templates listed. Is this intentional? I guess I'll need to download a template. Is that process listed in detail somewhere?

Re: Avery label templates
Try /File /New /Labels and see if your label type is listed - select Avery Labels from the Brand dropdown and the label types from the Type dropdown.

Re: Avery label templates
Selecting Avery letter size gave me what I wanted. I hadn't looked adequately at the four Avery* choices. Thank you!

Re: [Solved] Avery label templates
Oh my God, it is so frustrating. There are a 101 templates but not the one I want, even though it's a common one!
I typically use 2x2 address labels on A4 in landscape, i.e. Avery J8169 or L7169 but for the life of me I can't find a portrait equivalent in the list of templates!
When I try to find a downloadable one at the templates.openoffice.org subdomain but searches under any relevant terms produce absolutely no results.
Any ideas?

The J8169 seems to be available in the built-in label formats. Open a new label document in Writer - File | New | Labels, go to the Labels tab and select Avery A4 brand, open the Type dropdown list and scroll down a little.
Edit: This is in portrait orientation |

I found J8169 in the list of templates; it is giving me an A4 sheet, portrait, with two large mailing labels on each sheet. If I use /Format /Page, and set the orientation the other way, I get 4 mailing labels on a landscape A4.
I suggest that you change the setting for Page orientation - ignore whether it thinks it is portrait or horizontal, and try a printout on plain paper until you get what you want, so as not to waste your label stock.

My Libreoffice 6.2.8 has a PORTRAIT orientation 2x2 label in the Zweckform group.I typically use 2x2 address labels on A4 in landscape, i.e. Avery J8169 or L7169 but for the life of me I can't find a portrait equivalent in the list of templates!
Try the LibreOffice (at least a portable version).

Thank you one and all for your fast and helpful responses, and from different angles!
The thing that worked for me was Zizi's suggestion to check the Avery Zweckform list of formats. I didn't have to use LibreOffice either, it's in OO!
Brilliant forum, if this is anything to go by.
