I am doing some of that. On one ("Good") chart, the secondary series is properly displayed in the chart and in the legend. On other charts, I have a secondary axis (properly scaled) and the secondary series name appears in the legend, but the secondary axis data do not appear on the chart.
I can not remember designating a column of data to the secondary axis when I created the "good" chart. I cannot see a way to designate a series to the secondary axis on the "other" charts when I work in "data ranges". I have tried to figure this out with "Help", but I have failed in that so far. Probably this is a simple thing, but I am baffled.
Any pointers / advice?

Right-clic on data series, Format data series.
In the options tab : align data series to secondary Y axis.

I assume when you say "Right-clic on data series" that you are saying that I should be able to see the data series on a chart and to click on that. For some reason, I can't see the series that I want to designate to the secondary axis.
Another thing: when I uncheck Secondary Y Axis, the Secondary Y Axis goes away, but bars don't change. The secondary data should be low on the Primary Y Axis but it does not appear in that case either. The location looks good in "data ranges".
Wierd.

Re: Designate series to secondary axis
Why does a column of data (column D) appear in one bar chart, but not in another bar chart?
The column D series appears in the legend, but not in the chart.

(Solved) Designate series to secondary axis
Somehow, I don't know why, the problem was caused when I created the chart. By default, apparently, Calc checks the box for showing axis grids under Chart Elements / Choose Title, Legend and Grid Settings. When I unchecked the Y axis grid box, the third data series appeared in the chart. Then, after I established the Secondary Axis and designated the third series to the Secondary Axis, I wanted the y-axis grid. Rechecking the box gave me the Y axis grid and the third data series remained in place.
