[Solved] AOO3.4.1 crashes repeatedly

I've just changed to 3.4.1 because 3.3 was crashing repeatedly after about one minute, but I'm getting the same on 3.4.1. I've tried changing user profile and I've deleted automatic online update as recommended on various posts, but no effect. If I try and open a Word document, the screen locks, then fades, and I get the Microsoft "Open Office not responding" box. OS is Windows 7.

If you open something else than a MS Word document, does it work?

Since no change when resetting the profile, close AOO (and Quickstarter) and go to the folder $USERPROFILE/3/user/extensions/bundled/ (where $USERPROFILE is the root path to your profile).
Rename the files extensions.pmap and extensions.db. Restart AOO and see if there is any improvement.

It now seems to be working OK on all docs, so I'll leave well alone for a few days and see what happens. Thanks for the guidance.
