Why do I have to log in twice?

Post by surfing69 »

I already have to login to get into Community Forums here http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... beb4eb5969 . So why do I have to login AGAIN if I choose General Discussions and then decide to post a new topic here -
http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... m.php?f=49 ??

There should only be one login process to access all areas. :?

There is only one login for the whole set of forums. I can't see what you were doing, but it's just possible that you had a window open with this forum before registering and activating your account and that you tried to post from there, and that the page couldn't find your registration details, if that makes any sense.

You don't have to log in to get into any of the public forums. You do have to log in to post.

However, I have noticed a potential issue with the login process on the general forum page. If you go to the forum main page here
http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/ and then scroll to the bottom of the page there is a 'Login' 'Register' section. However if I input my details and click on 'Login' button the next page that pops up is a page asking me to login again here http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... mode=login ??

However if I login using the button at the top RHS of the page, it takes me to the same page i.e. http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... mode=login

Can someone confirm if this is a real issue?

That seems to be correct. Good point.

Indeed the field at bottom of the page has always been defective. Since very few people use it, no action has been taken about that yet.
