[Solved] Open office writer will not print

I have tried and tried but the program will not print. The only way I can get around it is to export the document to google drive and print that way. What is wrong with the interaction between open office writer and the printer and how do I fix it? Thank you for any help in advance.

Is your Windows 7 32 or 64 bit? There are noted occasional difficulties with OpenOffice and printing when using 64 bit Windows. These are sometimes cured by reinstalling the printer after OpenOffice. They may also be related to the connection method of the printer - problems were reported with USB printer connections, which, if I remember correctly, were cured by setting the USB port not to be bidirectional.

An immediate workaround is to Export as PDF and print from the PDF file.

Okay yes it is 64bit. I'll try these troubleshooting methods. I have already reinstalled the printer software and drivers so for me it didn't work. I'll try the usb fix and let you guys know how it goes.

Okay so I figured it out. I took off bilateral but that did not change anything. So I changed the color preference in printer settings to Adobe RGB 1998. It was on Colorsafe previously so now it works fine. Thanks for the help! I hope this will help others.
