I have had problems on WinXP as well but on Win7 I did not find any solution.
Here are my problems: Open Office crashes after a few activity’s in Writer or Calc.
I have tried to solve the problem but i am disparate and ask for help.
Uninstalled OpenOffice
Delete user profile (application data folder)
New installation.
Changed Options:
Online Updates “OFF”
Proxy: None
Java: Sun 1.6.0_25
and still crashes.
The fastest way to generate a crash is to select “Extension Manager” in the “Tools” drop down menu.

Re: OpenOffice crashes (OO 3.4.1 on Win7 64bit)
Hi and welcome to the forum!
Well, at least this is a clear description of the problem and what you've tried.
If you go through 5 or 6 crashes in a row, does it still occur?
If so, you can try to move the folders that are in C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 3\share\uno_packages\cache\uno_packages elsewhere to deactivate the extensions installed by default (be sure that AOO is completely closed, including quickstarter); put them anywhere else so that you can move them back where they were before if there is no change.

Re: OpenOffice crashes (OO 3.4.1 on Win7 64bit)
I'd suggest changing to a later Java, just in case that early Java is unstable with AOO 3.4.1. Remember that it needs to be a 32 bit Java.
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.15 on Xubuntu 22.04.5 LTS

@Hagar:
Yes i have had my crashes and the problem remains, usually on recently opended documents.
(The best test is to select “Extension Manager”.)
C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice.org 3\share\uno_packages\cache\uno_packages - has been empty (so i deleted it)
=> The crashes still appears very fast afer opening a document.
@RoryOF:
Changed Java to Oracle 1.7.0_09
=> It seems that takes a little longer for the crashes to happen - but still they appear within 5 minutes.

Re: OpenOffice crashes (OO 3.4.1 on Win7 64bit)
Can you put your whole OpenOffice profile in a zip archive and upload it somewhere (like mediafire)?
I'd like to test it on my machine and perhaps provide it to the developers. They desperately try to reproduce it without any success.

Re: OpenOffice crashes (OO 3.4.1 on Win7 64bit)
I would be glad to make a zip file and send it to someone who can help me with 3.4.1 crashes on Windows 7. I will need more details than what you posted though. . .

You can zip the whole profile (see [Tutorial] The User Profile) and create a new bug report where you can attach it: [Tutorial] Reporting bugs or suggestions. Then add a comment to that one: https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=121625 so that the devs track it too.
Make sure that your profile do not contain personal information that you would not appear online in your archive. Make sure especially that the \backup folder is empty!
