[Solved] Trouble installing Error 1310 cli_basetypes.dll

Post by tigerchick »

I was working in OO and notice that an update was available, so I clicked to update through OO directly. However, as it was copying and installing the files, the following error pops up:

Error 1310.Error writing to file: cli_basetypes.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory.

I then have to click cancel - and when I did it looks like it also uninstalled my previous OO. :(

I have tried numerous times to re-install, and went directly to the site and downloaded the following:

OOo_3.2.1_Win_x86_install-wJRE_en-US(2).exe

Still, no dice - same error. Firewall and anti-virus programs are off. This is driving me nuts because it was working perfectly before I tried to update - I really need to use OO, but can't get it installed!

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Hagar - I did run a search for both Error 1310 and cli_basetypes.dll before posting to the forum, but I didn't locate any information that helped my particular situation.

I'll keep looking, but in the meantime if anyone has any idea what's going on please post - I appreciate it!

You can try to run the installer as administrator. This error seems to be linked to a lack of permissions on the files and folders. Have the installation files been unzipped on the Desktop?

I am running the installer as administrator, and the installation files were unzipped on the Desktop...no luck...

Is there an indication about the folder where the installer tries to save the dll above?

Unfortunately no - it only says "Error 1310.Error writing to file: cli_basetypes.dll"

I've run a search on my computer for cli_basetypes.dll, but no results...

Finally fixed! I installed .net framework 4.0 from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... layLang=en

and it installed with no problems at all. Hope this helps others that may be having the same problem :)
