[Solved] No default printer found error message

Hello!

I am a new user to openoffice.org and I really enjoy the program and the features it has to offer in the new 3.0.1 version.

When i go ahead and try to print, it says "No default printer found. Please choose a printer and try again." Under file >>print settings it gives me no options to select a printer, and the printer is set default in the windows control panel.

I restarted my computer multiple times, along with uninstalling and re-installing the programs.

Any ideas?

My system:

IBM Lenovo T61 RAM-4GB 2.4GHz

Hi,

are the printers available from within other applications?

If yes, I recommend to try to reset the OOo user profile.

Ok.. i reset the OOo.. i named the old verison user.old and set up a new one. But it still says. "No Default printer.....

Well i did recently install Comodo Firewall.. but the printer and open office are in the "trusted applications." Does anyone suggest uninstalling this?

I removed all Comodo programs from my laptop - they caused nothing but problems. Whether this is the cause of your issue, though, is hard to tell. You'd have to try it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will give it a try. What firewall/anti virus are you using instead of Comodo?

I use the free version of AVG anti-virus and just the Windows firewall.

Ok. I might give that a shot. But im not sure about using Windows Firewall.
Anyways, in the mean-time i uninstalled Comodo firewall, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer driver and restarted my computer.
Still no luck with printing in OOo.

Yea!! Finally!! it works... for some reason the Comodo CC Cleaner needed two system reboots to completely uninstall.
